The subject matter of Elisabeth Cummings’ work is inspired by place and landscape. Her process is led by intuition, where her drawn line wanders seductively across the picture plain to create her impression of a landscape or the finer elements of place and its intimate spaces.
This exhibition of monotypes is the rendering of observations from interior spaces. Subjects include the clutter of a kitchen sink, the everyday debris strewn across a dining table, the general affairs and photographs of her bedroom dresser. The works engage bold colour and her now infamous alluring sense of continual line.
