Elizabeth Day: Discontinued Narratives

Elizabeth Day: Discontinued Narratives
Edited by Nicholas Tsoutas
Connie Dietzschold Gallery

The interdisciplinary practice of Sydney-based, UK-born artist Elizabeth Day centres on issues of mental health, migration, feminism, ecology, social justice and Australian colonial history. Informed by experiences working in the prison system, the artist often interrogates institutionalised power and violence in contexts of incarceration.

‘Discontinued Narratives’ is a richly illustrated critical engagement of Day’s visual and conceptual practice. It features an in-depth interview with Day by the Editor, Nicholas Tsoutas, and three thematised essays by Dr Anna Gibbs, Dr Ann Finegan and Dr Jacqueline Millner that examine different aspects of her politically-charged output.
