Curated by James Tapscott and Sam Mitchell-Fin, ‘Globelight ‘13’ is the inaugural exhibition of light-based art and design. A dynamic cross-section of Australian and international artists and designers will occupy both spaces of Anita Traverso Gallery and the Abbotsford Convent ground with light-based sculpture, installation, design objects and video art throughout the month of August.
The subject of light is a growing part of contemporary art practice incorporating the medium into their broader practice. ‘Globelight ’13’ aims to be a unique experience for both creative practitioners and public audience in presenting a collection of cutting edge work and ideas that are, thought-provoking and challenging beyond the limits of larger festivals.
