Inaugural ‘Sculpture In The Garden’ to showcase major artists

The inaugural ‘Sculpture in the Garden’ at historic Lambrigg, near Tharwa (NSW), on 19 and 20 October will showcase the work of 28 major local, national and internationally recognized artists.

This unique regional event is a partnership between Open Gardens Australia and ABC 666 Canberra, in collaboration with the Gullet family, owners of Lambrigg.

Curated by Canberra landscape architect, Neil Hobbs, the exhibition will showcase the works in a setting that connects the early history of the Limestone Plains with a spectacular natural landscape.

Works will be exhibited in a wide range of media, from corten steel, woven wire, concrete and aluminium to stone, glass, silicone, acrylic and found objects. All works will be for sale.

In the stunning Lambrigg garden, mature deciduous trees sweep down towards the Murrumbidgee River, framing a garden that blends intimate formal spaces with wider views and provides a superb setting for sculpture.

Works of varying scale will create a dialogue with the spaces surrounding them, suiting both large and small gardens and corporate collections.

Taking place during Canberra’s centenary year, Sculpture in the Garden will provide a wonderful opportunity for the community                                                                                                          to  engage with art, gardens and history.
