Melbourne-based artist Jon Campbell is known for his use of words and phrases as imagery.
Working across drawings, paintings, flags, neon lighting, tea towels, and songs, Campbell captures aspects of popular culture that are both lived and observed. Exploring the complex and specific qualities of contemporary Australian language, the artist eschews strident nationalism in favour of an inclusive celebration of the small, the overlooked, and the everyday. On show are a selection of works spanning four decades alongside site-specific installations.
