Featuring around seventy works, Garrison brings together contemporary and historical perspectives on conflict, service, and resilience through the City of Townsville Art Collection.
From Douglas Green’s evocative wartime paintings to powerful contemporary interpretations by Jon Cattapan, George Gittoes, and Tim Page, local military and Air Force personnel are honoured and themes of memory, sacrifice, and the human experience of war explored. Presented during the Anzac period, Garrison invites dialogues across generations and reflection on the enduring impact of military history and its representation in art.
