As its city prepares and awaits the arrival of the new Spirit of Tasmania, this exhibition considers what it means to be present in absence and to believe, ecstatically, in spirits – inviting six Tasmania artists to respond to their emotional, spectral, political, or imagined connections held with place; as to be somewhere in spirit is to be there without physically being there – to show support from afar, or to haunt.
