Kim Westcott: Coloured Rain

In this presentation of engravings and paintings, Victoria-based Kim Westcott explores the intersection of colour, light, and perspective – capturing the shifting atmospheres of her studio environment in the Warby Ovens National Park.

Trying to create a living environment in the process of painting, branch forms are created, develop, and fall; shifting veils of colour that echo the forest’s own cycles of coloured light and shadow, the symbolism of coloured rain speaking to emotional transformation – the idea that growth and healing, like rainfall, arrives in waves.
