Land Holds Memory

Joe Furlonger, Pat Hoffie, Peter Hudson, Euan Macleod, and Joanne Currie Nalingu were invited by curator Nina Shadforth on a journey through regional Queensland, where they immersed themselves in the environment – walking, listening, and creating in the landscape. New works were created primarily en plein air during field trips to the Bunya Mountains, Girraween National Park and Carnarvon Gorge, which resonate with layered geological, ecological and human histories. These multifaceted visual responses are complemented by Kev Carmody’s soundscapes, which reflect the interconnected cycles and rhythms of nature.
