Lisa Jones is a Sydney based artist whose contemporary art practice explores drawing, sculpture and video.
Jones’ work divulges the incongruity between lived experience and the aestheticism of ‘invisible cities’, ‘secret networks’, and ‘artistic algorithms’. In her latest exhibition, ‘Milky Eye’, Jones explores the notion of drawing as an act of thinking and doing. Through this act, Jones is able to discover: place through erasure, observation and mapping; moment, having the drawing bear witness to the human presence through the bodily movements that create the marks; and memory, the erasure of the marks as a reflection of the dissolving of time and place.
