Michele Elliot: what is held, is here

This exhibition features new work by Michele Elliot, whose practice centres around materiality and process, made visible through her devotion to its labour, the work itself, and the accumulation of gestures over time.

Bark, blossom, branch, copper, cotton, gold, lemongrass, linen, onion, silk, silver, smoke, wood, and walnut are brought into conversation through making and the language of textiles. Working with materials that are most often “at hand,” Elliot reflects on human frailty, loss and longing in the form of speculative garments, architectural propositions, intimate objects and photographs.
