Milpatjunanyi is the traditional telling of stories through drawing in the sand, combining an essential method of cultural communication with a vibrant form of contemporary art. Anangu women and girls use the practice today to share, discuss and reflect on the happenings of daily life and pass on the oral history of the Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara people.
Milpatjunanyi features the work of seventeen artists from the APY art centres in regional South Australia and Adelaide, ranging from works on paper and prints to ceramics, sculpture and video.
