Principle Matter

This exhibition questions our notion of perception through light, which is the principle matter involved in all visual experience. Four artists are showcased, all of whom use light in their practice, albeit for different lines of enquiry.

Paul Greedy explores the synthesis of aural and visual perception by mediating the wave properties of sound and light phenomena; David Haines is fascinated with the idea of looking at the sun, and being able to observe it then render it as images; Jai McKenzie explores un-built, propositional architecture of the mid 20th Century; and Sean Rafferty is interested in landscape, memory and entropy, and the territories between truth and fiction.
