Sriwhana Spong: HA HA HA

The first major solo exhibition in Australia of London-based Balinese–Aotearoan New Zealand artist Sriwhana Spong, HA HA HA spans the breadth of Spong’s practice, including drawings, film, sculpture, and textiles and featuring two new works commissioned for the exhibition.

A small or contingent encounter – a text, an image, a living organism, or an historical trace – is often the artist’s starting point, her practice unfolding nonlinearly, informed by the relationship of her body to her Balinese heritage and of the human body to the world.
