standing still; looking back, looking forward

Curated by Jessica Clark, ‘standing still; looking back, looking forward’ celebrates First Peoples’ identities through temporal perspectives – the present, past and future.

Artists Dean Cross, Amala Groom, Nicole Monks, Brad Harkin, Ashley Perry and Katie West grapple with the complexities of navigating culture and sovereign knowledge through a range of interdisciplinary ideas, methods and media. As a result, their works offer alternative viewpoints on the diaspora and plurality of Aboriginality in a contemporary urban context.
