In this exhibition architectural interiors such as waiting rooms, office cubicles, foyers and corridors are constructed from sharp geometric lines and tonal blocks of colour.
The unconventional colour combinations, exaggerated tone, inaccurate perspectives and awkward compositions create uncanny tensions. Wilson paints deliberate inconsistencies into the work such as paper-thin walls; vague sources of light and mysterious shadows to heighten the tension within her clinical environments. While devoid of inhabitants, hints of recent human activity such as well-watered plants and glowing lights give an eerie presence to each composition.
