Tomás Saraceno: Oceans of Air

Tomás Saraceno is an Argentinian-born Berlin-based artist attuned to the changes modern humans and capitalism have wrought on today’s world (in a new era called “the Capitalocene”). In this exhibition, “air”, or “toxified air,” is the central theme explored through community projects and artworks made from various materials, from tiny dust particles and air quality samples to streamed radio waves and thermodynamic sculptures, all informed by multiple perspectives. New Mona commissions: a series of intricate hybrid webs and site-specific herbarium diptych works add to this call for environmental action.
