Do I have to spell it out for you?
Eight artists give language and text a central role, allowing the audience to read their art, literally. They give language and text a central role, allowing the audience to read their art, literally. Through this direct mode of communication, the cultural and political power of words – as a means of resistance, cultural artefact, joke, and tool of sovereignty – is exposed and reclaimed. Ross Taylor: Field notes
Exploring the landscape, history, people and architecture of Central Victoria and the forces that have shaped it through time, Ross Taylor’s drawing-led practice considers the evocations and resonances of interior and exterior spaces through carefully composed images. Through a dedication to the medium of drawing and the interrogation of colour and spatial relationships, Taylor’s works read like an expanded notebook; an assemblage of visual ‘field notes’ in which a new – and often playful – chronicle of Central Victoria’s cultural landscape is offered.

Michael Taylor: Landscapes
Michael Taylor lives and works in the Monaro, where he draws his inspiration from the natural world around him. He paints the landscapes and waterscapes of southeastern New South Wales, capturing their rhythms and changing atmospheres. His paintings stand at the junction of landscape and abstraction, though they often appear to melt into total abstraction. Taylor has revised and adapted his gestural abstraction over the years to maintain it as his own instantly recognizable visual language.
