Sculptor Alison Coates is a pioneer and leading artist in the field of botanical sculpture. Using branches and plant fibres combined with discarded industrial materials, she creates beautiful sculptures that evoke reflections of the landscape, rhythm and emotion. In this new series ‘Estuary’, Coates is inspired by the life-giving energy that nurtures life’s beginnings and endings deep in its muddy mangrove banks. A still, protective nursery harbouring life beyond the battering forces of currents and tides.
