Christophe Stibio: Never Real, Always True

Having undertaken training with Chinese master painters, French-born Stibio’s practice revolves around patience, control and an astute awareness of time. Stibio seeks to construct in his work a new topography of space. The abstract forms and colours that emerge suggest a distorted, distant realm that shimmers with endless, complex spatial arrangements.

For Stibio, the landscape is a psychology and philosophy class. By embracing everyday challenges and temptations he incorporates personal responses within his meticulous and patiently organised landscapes. In so doing he presents the emotional and spiritual experience interwoven with the terrestrial landscape.
