Glossolalia is the occurrence of apparently speaking in an unknown language or tongues. In response to this phenomenon, four national artists create distinctive yet harmonic experiences through time-based media.
Curated by Colin Langridge, Glossolalia (pt. 1) looks at the conceptual and aesthetic threads of connection between artist Matt Warren’s earlier video and sound works, and contemporary technology. While Glossolalia (pt. 2), curated by Matt Warren, delves into the occult of images and sound – “hidden” or “obscured” – in work by Gail Priest, Sean Bacon, and Abbie Calvert.
