Heather Ellyard: CONTINUUM

Melbourne-based artist Heather Ellyard relishes her status as a mature artist: “There is a continuum in everything I do now. Thematically, my work is large and doesn’t want to stop. I don’t want to be interrupted.” Her conceptual landscape is boundless, with a physical presence that is more akin to a series of installations rather than a series of unconnected pieces. Ellyard captures glimpses of past, present and future through fragments and symbols, each of which are linked by a secret code of imagery and text, forming a unique language: “Continuum is an ongoing compilation of all that matters to me: our human condition, its wonders and ordeals, its place in our time.”
