This exhibition casts an eye back to Strocchi’s first paintings and traces her work to the present day. The early works are tentative homages to the dramatic central desert landscape that has been her home for 22 years; Strocchi has developed her visual narratives over this time.
The works on exhibition are selected from both public and private collections. Drawn from 26 solo exhibitions these works present a unique response to the landscape and environment of Australia’s northern region. A book ‘Marina Strocchi: A survey 1992-2014’ with over 100 colour plates and essays by Sasha Grishin, Sioux Garside and Georges Petitjean will be launched at the opening.
