After the launch of Casula Powerhouses’ fifth annual celebration of the Pacific Islands, ‘Pacifica Gods’ is a series of both traditional and contemporary Pacific artwork on display. As well as traditional pieces such as headdress worn for traditional performance, contemporary artworks of large-scale paintings, sculptures and video from established and emerging Pacific artists such as Eric Bridgeman, Shane Cotton and Alan Lakisoe are also on display.
Aiming to empower Pacific communities and celebrate Pacific culture by looking to the past, present and future, ‘Pacifica Gods 2014’ continues with more food, arts, crafts, music and film at Casula Powerhouse throughout November.
