Marion Borgelt: Full Circle Red

The work of Borgelt draws inspiration from subjects and concepts such as semiotics, language, optics and phenomenology. She creates atavistic fantasies and mysteries that take their form in paintings, sculptures and installations.

Borgelt’s work suggests connections between man-made culture and nature, continually navigating their intermediate spaces. Her practice speaks to the links between constructed and organic worlds, between microcosm and macrocosm and the ever-present duality of light and dark. Her materials include; bees-wax, canvas, felt, pigment, stainless steel, wood, stone and organic matter.
