Sharon Field draws inspiration from the landscape that surrounds the rural township of Burra in South-Eastern New South Wales, where she lives and paints. As a volunteer firefighter, Field has witnessed first-hand the effects of drought and fire on the land, plants, insects and animals. She says, ‘This exhibition provides cameos of the small things of beauty that are strong when their environment is healthy and in so doing, provides us with a mirror to what we may lose.’
