Shenane Jago: My Country of the Norgin

Shenane Jago is a proud Kurtijar woman living and working in Normanton in the Gulf of Carpentaria, Queensland. She has worked with pottery for over a decade and is the 2022 graduate of the UMI Arts Exhibition-Ready program. Working with Deb Eldermire, The Pottery Place in Cairns, Jago has developed a vibrant body of work for her first solo exhibition at UMI Arts Gallery, which will showcase a large collection of colourful and creative Raku-fired ceramic pieces, including crocodile heads and turtle shells.
