Silhouettes: Fashion in the Shadow of HIV/AIDS

Silhouettes: Fashion in the Shadow of HIV/AIDS pays homage to the work and lives of some of the most extraordinary fashion designers, artists, and activists of the late twentieth century, who lost their lives to AIDS-related illness. The exhibition of over 100 pieces of couture, art, and ephemera drawn from public and private collections in the UK, USA and Australia, narrates a pivotal moment in global history of not just the changing hemlines and tailored cuts but the advancement of social and political attitudes towards health, gender, and sexuality.
