Jenny Green – Beautopia

Jenny Green explores and subverts the allure and perception of beauty in ‘Beautopia’, transforming discarded steel into objects of beauty. She welds her sculptures using junk metal off-cuts, bronze and steel to create over-sized stilettos, lacy steel bras and panties and other objects commonly associated with sensuality and allure, to playfully question the concept of femininity and what it means to be appealing. Green’s sculptural forms highlight the soft, warm sides of a woman through the use of cold, hard industrial materials.
