Hatched: National Graduate Show 2022

Emerging from the shells of art schools across Australia, the latest batch of visual arts graduates take over PICA in this annual exhibition that offers an intriguing snapshot of the nation’s current contemporary art practices and trends and the role of arts education in fostering critical thought. Twenty-five emerging artists question complex socio-cultural issues from digital identity and data theft to family and cultural connections and legacies of colonialism through installation, digital art, hand-crafted ceramic, and textile pieces, and works made from rendered fish and chip shop fat.
