Rachel Ellis: Sustaining Light

Working mainly in-situ, Rachel Ellis has captured the light, colour and topology of the NSW Central Tablelands since her move to Bathurst in 2001. Curated by Julian Woods, ‘Sustaining Light’ brings together selected works from public and private collections highlighting the artist’s interest in luminism and interaction with line, shape and form. Her paintings and drawings of the region’s seasons, landscapes and streetscapes are a ‘response to something seen and felt’. ‘I love the way light can transform what we see,’ says Ellis.
